The 2009 Santa Barbara City Council race promises to break all precedents in terms of electability via big money special interests with newcomer Justin Tevis emerging onto the local political scene. Armed with a degree in International Relations and History from top tier university, Claremont McKenna College, Mr. Tevis promises to bring a fresh outsider's perspective to the table by utilizing his strong business background & staying true to his core principles. A lifelong local to Santa Barbara County, Tevis will provide the strong leadership needed to preserve small town Santa Barbara, and get our budget back in line without dipping into the City's reserve funds or turning the burden back on to Santa Barbarans. He articulates a dynamic approach to the homeless and gang problems versus throwing money into free housing & ineffective, wasteful programs. As a lifelong athlete, he believes that sports & recreation are one of the most effective ways to harness youth aggression. In terms of planning, he has a strict focus on revitalizing the basic infrastructure of our city, by paving roads, filling potholes, planting trees and painting bike lanes as opposed to embarking on costly, ineffective projects like the "bulb outs" that result in a waste of space and tax dollars. Mr. Tevis is a back to the basics type of guy with a grounding in reality, and a heart that beats in tune with the City of Santa Barbara. Please vote for Freedom on November 3rd instead of conceding to more of the same.
