Freedom Fighters, the movement, was born out of the belief that every American should be able to live as they choose. They should not fear government or feel completely detached from the decisions being made on the government level. Instead, government power is derived from the will of the people. In the last few years, we have witnessed such atrocities as the Patriot Act, which completely violated our Constitutional Rights, along with billions of dollars being stripped from Americans to "rescue" failed banks. Freedom Fighters do not acknowledge any law that goes against our Constitution and declare them null and void. We also do not support any candidate who thinks that he or she is "smarter" than the will of the people. No politician is above and beyond citizens' influence. Government should represent human independence and autonomy, not authoritative abuse of power. On a local level, it is time to elect a candidate who understands the values of America. Santa Barbara does not need any insiders who will continue the cycle of government corruption displayed by current members of the Council. They have shown a tendency to favor the bureaucracy over their constituents by giving government workers pay increases, even when our city is running on empty (reserve funds). In the case of an unforeseen natural or systematic disaster, we definitely need these funds replenished before it is too late. It is time to vote for freedom. It is not time for someone to impose their will, but instead turn the power back over to Santa Barbarans. That man is Justin Tevis. We support Mr. Tevis because he is not a politician, but a student of life. His goal is to reinforce principles that we, as a nation, declared to an imperial power (Great Britain, 1776) in order to stand up against an unjust system. From our history, we saw dangers inherently a part of government's nature and set up a system to preclude future exploitation de la gente. We should not erode these principles on any level: federal, state, or local.
